Learn how three California Native Plant Society members work with their neighborhood governing bodies to help install California native plants in common areas.

Portola Hills II HOA, Colony HOA Irvine
Elizabeth Wallace, Jeffrey Olmstead, and Karen Graham will share their experience working with Southern California Homeowners Associations to improve the plant palettes in their neighborhoods.
GRAHAM recently began working with her HOA in Deerfield, and is spearheading the installation of a native plant landscape that includes Engelmann oaks, buckwheat, and yarrow to replace turf. Karen is the Program Director and an Instructor at Earthroots Field School.
WALLACE, who has 16 years of experience as an HOA board member and landscape chair, works together with the HOA landscape contractor to implement native plant installation and the removal of invasive plants in the Portola Hills II community of Trabuco Canyon.
OLMSTEAD, who works for Tree of Life Nursery, has personally installed and designed common areas including a park and streetscape with native plants in the Colony HOA in Irvine.
The presentation will last 30 minutes, leaving ample time for questions and answers in a seminar-style format. Andrew Cain and Lesley Bindloss of the Talega HOA will be in attendance to answer questions as well.
