Mar 2 – Angel Garcia on Native Gardens in Our Urban Region & Garden Tour Preview

Join us via Zoom on March 2nd for a preview of our upcoming Poppy Day Garden Tour and discussion of native gardens in our built environment. Angel Garcia leads this talk to share why native plant gardens matter, especially in a region as developed as the South Coast Chapter.

Our chapter vice president, Angel Garcia, will share a brief presentation on how native plant gardens can deliver real benefical outcomes in urban neighborhoods.  Some you’ll see quickly in your yard like: using less water, reducing maintenance, cutting down on chemicals, and welcoming more wildlife; others build quietly over time and extend beyond our yards. In built-out environments, native plant gardens become part of a larger web of habitat that helps wildlife move through our communities and stay connected to remnant natural areas.
