July 10, 2023: Meet us at the Gardena Willows Wetland Preserve
Our July meeting will be in person, and delayed by one week to allow family time on the 3rd.
Join us on Monday, July 10 at 6 p.m. (note date and early start time) for free pizza (salads, sides, and dessert provided by our members/attendees) and then a walk through the demonstration garden known as Mother Nature’s Backyard and along the pathways of the Gardena Willows Wetland Preserve.
Please RSVP by email to SouthCoastCNPS@gmail.com so we have a head count and can provide enough pizza.
The Preserve covers 13.6 acres and is the remnant of a wetland area that once covered 400 acres. Read more of the history here https://www.gardenawillows.org/history.htm
Gardena Willows Preserve is located at 1201 W. 170th Street, Gardena, CA 90247 and is best reached by driving into Arthur Johnson Park from 170th St. Park on the south side of the lot and take the pathway along the chain link fence planted with native grape to the Willows entrance gate.
Please bring a side dish or dessert to share if you are able – it will be a real pot-luck since we aren’t pre-coordinating this part of the meal.
