Willow Springs Mural – Conze Grant

Conze grants typically fund public-facing native plant garden installations but Saturday, July 16th, 2022, kicked off a Conze Grant project that was a little bit different.   Community participants gathered at Willow Springs Park (2745 Orange Ave, Long Beach, CA 90806) for a mural painting.   Local artist Belinda Wells generated the mural plan and the community painted all day long to bring it to completion.  The mural draws attention to the historic presence of the Tongva people at the site of the park as well as flora and fauna endemic to the area.
