Indigenous People’s Day at Whittier Narrows: Native Habitat Tending, Planting Workshop & More

Our chapter is joining with the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation to celebrate Ingenous People’s Day at the Whittier Narrows Nature Center.  On Saturday, October 11 we will be guiding and participating in invasive plant removal and a planting workshop.

More specifically plans for Saturday, October 11 include:

• Tending the Land
• Weeding and installing new plants at the Butterfly Habitat Garden.
• Weeding and installing new plants at the park’s pocket habitats.
• Trimming back overgrowth and removing dead plants at the Island habitat.
• Invasive plant removal Habitat Care at trail-side habitats.
