Deukmejian Wilderness Park Hike

Dennis Arguelles with National Parks Conservation Association will lead this San Gabriel Mountain foothills hike and include a discussion of the proposed Rim of the Valley legislation that would expand the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.  Deukmeijian Wilderness Park is the north edge of Glendale and features trails through chaparral & sage scrub, stream-side woodlands, and a historic stone barn converted to a nature center.

The park’s street address is 3429 Markridge Road.  From Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta, go north on New York Ave. to the end, then another 400 feet on Markridge to the entrance.  Park and gather near the stone barn nature center.  For logistical questions contact Bill Neill.  Rain forecast will postpone event to Saturday, October 24 or a later date announced by email.
