The Randy Morgan Scholarship: 2027

The goal of the scholarship program is to support
people researching and exploring native plants and
their habitats. The scholarship is named in honor of
Randy Morgan, a local botanist and naturalist who
encouraged curiosity and observation of our local
flora and fauna.

Projects should focus on Santa Cruz County flora.
Requests can be made for up to $500. For
example, you may request funding for a Jepson
Manual, hand lens, local plant checklist, travel costs,
or a plant press. Support may also be requested for
native plant horticulture or demonstration gardens.

Who is eligible?

  • Native plant enthusiasts including high school
seniors, college students, grad students, and
others at least 17 years old
