Past February 2026 Public Program: Up and Down California, a botanist’s life in the field.

Everyone was welcome at the Santa Cruz County CNPS public program Monday, February 9, 2026 held at the Santa Cruz Natural History Museum with a plant keying session at 5:30 p.m.

After a brief 7 p.m. meeting, Alex Hubner gave a talk “Up and Down California: a botanist’s ife in the field.”  Alex showed beautiful slides and videos for a taste of his life as a field botanist, spending days smelling the flowers and keying them out for population counts and maps, demonstrating the highs and lows of travel up and down the state of California.
