Bring Back Wildflowers with Firesafe Road

Date and Time: Sunday, June 11, 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

Location to rendezvous: Chicago Park area of Grass Valley. Address for rendezvous will be provided after registration.

Join Chrissy Freeman and a volunteer trip botanist on a journey down her neighborhood’s gravel road. Learn about local wildflowers. See how they have been reappearing since residents started doing roadside firesafe maintenance. We’ll walk most of a 1.6 mile gravel road and some forest paths in Chicago Park (3 miles round trip); a few hills.

Sign up online. Trip leader: Chrissy Freeman. Meet at 10 a.m. near Old Coach Way in Chicago Park. Cell number will be provided after registration.

Bring water, snack, hat, sunscreen. No dogs, please. Dogs (behind fences and gates) along the route will bark at us anyway.
