NEWS – Conservation: CNPS OC sends a comment letter to the Santa Ana Regional Water Quality Control Board. The letter outlines document discrepencies and nature disruptions (including habitat of FESA listed birds) for the proposed Reclamation Inert Waste Disposal Operation near a section of Santiago Creek. We recommend a full Environmantal Impact Report before the project proceeds.

Conservation:  Re – Santiago Creek component of the Santa Ana River Mainstem Flood Control Project (SARMP). The chapter sent a comment letter signed by Rebecca Crowe. “OC-CNPS urges the Army Corps of Engineers to reduce the impact and destruction of native plants and vegetation and increase the mitigation requirements in the Smith Basin area of the Santiago Creek component of the SARMP”.  Five categories of issues were identified with details provided.
