Join us for the Second California Native Plant Exchange & Potluck, hosted by the Orange County Chapter of the California
Native Plant Society in collaboration with the Environmental Nature Center. This community-centered gathering is a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow native plant enthusiasts, share resources, and celebrate California’s incredible native flora during peak planting season.
What to Expect
Native Plant Exchange
Bring California native plants, seeds, or bulbs to share—and take home something new for your garden. This is a great way to diversify your landscape while supporting local, regionally appropriate plants.
Tips & Shared Knowledge
Learn from fellow gardeners and CNPS members about propagation, care techniques, and best practices for growing natives successfully.

Potluck Gathering
Feel free to bring a dish, snack, or beverage to share. Light bites and finger foods are always welcome, but bringing food is optional—your presence is what matters most.
Zero Waste Guidelines
The Environmental Nature Center is a TRUE Platinum–certified Zero Waste facility, and we ask all participants to help us reduce waste during this event. Single-use plastics and Styrofoam are not permitted, including plastic bottles, cups, utensils, plates, plastic bags, balloons, and disposable coffee cups with plastic lids (biocompostable plastics are also not allowed).
Please bring reusable dishes, cups, utensils, and serving items, and use reused pots or paper containers for plants whenever possible. Thank you for helping us model sustainable, low-waste practices.
Explore the ENC Grounds
After the exchange, enjoy time wandering the Environmental Nature Center’s native plant gardens and habitats. The ENC Plant Sale will also be occurring from 10AM to 3PM.
Important Notes
-
Please bring plants for exchange in reused pots, or containers made from newspaper or brown paper bags.
-
Only California native plants, please. If you’re unsure whether a plant qualifies, feel free to ask.
