iNaturalist and Calflora are two platforms practically every naturalist and native plant enthusiast now know. During this live, online, inter-active session we will learn more about each of these applications.

Expect to gain insights into how enthusiasts, professionals, botanists, and conservation advocates use these systems to identify and share information about California plant distribution and ecology. We will also learn about the people behind the platforms, how they created such popular software, how it works, and what might be next.

Ron Vanderhoff is the evening’s moderator for an interactive evening with organization leads Ken-ichi Ueda (Co-Founder of iNaturalist) and Cynthia Powell (Executive Director of Calflora).  Both are down-to-earth naturalists and native plant enthusiasts. Be prepared for a fun and interesting evening where attendees will have a chance to ask their questions of Ken-ichi and Cynthia.
