Dr. Peter Bowler
Over the last five decades, Dr. Peter Bowler has been educating the future of ecology through his hands-on teaching of restoration, conservation, freshwater systems, environmental ethics, and many other ecology-based courses at the University of California, Irvine (UCI).

During his time at UCI, Peter played a major role in implementing restoration and education throughout southern California. He was instrumental in restoring a degraded cattle field in south Irvine into what we now know as the San Joaquin Marsh Reserve, where he was the co-director. Additionally, he has led successful restoration efforts at the UCI Ecological Reserve and Burns Piñon Ridge Reserve. Currently, Peter is the faculty advisor for the UCI Arboretum and Herbarium where many of our local herbarium vouchers are housed from the local wilderness checklists being conducted by members of the OC CNPS chapter.
