DESCRIPTION

By popular demand, join OC-CNPS botanists on a Mini BotanyBlitz, as a follow-up to our big 2023 Blitz. This Blitz will be simple .  .  . we will survey and document plant taxa in a relatively small portion of the park, and will be especially searching for undocumented and uncollected plant taxa in our effort to further complete our UCI Herbarium – OCCNPS project The Vascular Plants of Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park.

Bring a cellphone with the iNaturalist app loaded and ready (or a GPS enabled camera) and be ready for a day out on the trails looking for species we have not yet collected at the park (see the CCH2 for our current taxa list). This will be more a plant survey than a normal educational/interpretive OCCNPS field trip – please be prepared.

We will decide on the trails and route the morning of the Blitz. We will be out for at least a few hours, so you can stay as long as you wish.
