Get Involved!
Help grow CNPS and support our mission to protect, conserve and enjoy California’s native plants and their habitats! Our chapter is entirely volunteer-run, so there are lots of opportunities to get involved.
Current Open Positions
Vice President
Our chapter is in need of a Vice President. This would be a core member of our chapter!
Your duties would include:
- joining our month board meetings
- conducting board meetings when the president is not available
- help with chapter activities, newsletter, or website
If you are interested in helping fulfill this role please email cnps.nsj@gmail.com
Hike Leaders
Are you excited to share your favorite hiking trail with other native plant enthusiasts? Then consider offering to lead or co-lead a CNPS hike. Hikes are offered year-round, are open to the general public, and are offered free of charge. Hikes are offered in any of the Northern San Joaquin Valley Chapter’s membership area of San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Merced counties or maybe even elsewhere in California.
If you aren’t too sure about your native plant identification skills you may request to be paired with a CNPS plant expert. If your expertise is in birds, mushrooms, insects, ethnobotany, geology etc. rather than plants, then that makes for an even better hike!
For more information contact Field Trip Coordinator and Chapter President, CeCe at cnps.njsv@gmail.com
Join our Conservation Committee!
Are you interested in protecting native plants and the habitat they need to survive? Join our chapters conservation committee and make a difference in our local community. Send us a message at cnps.nsj@gmail.com to get more involved.
