Fungi Foray Nature Walk

Join the North San Joaquin Valley Chapter of the California Native Plant Society (NSJV CNPS) for an engaging field trip to the scenic Valley Oak Recreation Area in Oakdale!

This February, we’ll take a closer look at spring mushrooms and their vital role in supporting riparian habitats. Mushrooms are not only fascinating fungi but also critical players in ecosystem health. Together, we’ll learn about their interactions with native plants, soil, and water systems.

What to Bring:

• Binoculars (optional, but great for spotting wildlife and mushrooms from afar!)
• Comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate attire
• Curiosity and enthusiasm!

This event is family-friendly and welcomes nature enthusiasts of all ages. Whether you’re a seasoned mycophile or new to the world of fungi, there’s something for everyone to discover.

Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with the local environment and our wonderful community of native plant lovers. We look forward to seeing you there!
