📍 Location: Knights Ferry Recreation Area meeting at the Visitor center (17968 Covered Bridge Rd)

Embark on a journey through the countryside as we meet at the visitor center at Knights Ferry Recreation Area. Explore the beauty of spring, discovering the vibrant local wildflower blooms and encountering the diverse wildlife that marks the beginning of the season.
After our exploration, we’ll take a scenic drive along Willms Road to witness the endangered vernal pool blooms that the Central Valley is known for. Marvel at the breathtaking displays of white meadowfoam and popcorn flowers, adding an extra layer of wonder to our nature-filled adventure.
Please bring water, and binoculars if you have them!
April 14th - Native Plant Week Jumpstart Hike - Del Puerto Canyon

📍 Location: Beginning of Del Puerto Canyon Road
Embark on a journey to explore the spring blooms that adorn the breathtaking Del Puerto Canyon. If you’ve never experienced the canyon’s immense beauty, get ready to be wowed and exclaim, “How is this Stanislaus County?”
To minimize our environmental impact, we encourage carpooling. Limited parking space is available along the sides of the road, so let’s share the adventure together. Our drive into the canyon will include stops along the way, with the turnaround point at the Santa Clara County sign.
– Bring water and lunch.
– Limited bathrooms within the canyon, so stop before the trip.
– Restrooms available at Frank Raines Park, and port-a-potties at the playground.
– No cell service once we enter the canyon.
This field trip is open to all ages, making it a perfect family-friendly adventure. Experience the wonders of nature, connect with fellow enthusiasts, and celebrate Native Plant Week in the heart of Del Puerto Canyon.
