CNPS  North San Joaquin Valley Chapter

The North San Joaquin Valley chapter is one of 35 chapters of the California Native Plant Society. Our chapter spans the valley from Southern San Joaquin, Stanislaus and Merced counties.

Mission: Our chapter seeks to increase the understanding, appreciation, and conservation of California native plants and their natural habitats within the North San Joaquin Valley through horticultural gardens, field trips, education and outreach events.

CNPS is a volunteer organization, depending on the dedication, hard work and incredible initiative of our members.

Get involved! Help grow CNPS and support our mission to protect, conserve and enjoy California’s native plants and their habitats. Assisting with a team is a great way to get started. You can help as much or as little as you wish and your time allows. Volunteering may be a single task or an ongoing commitment. We are effective because of volunteers like you. Learn about how you can get involved as a volunteer!

How to Get Involved

Volunteer Opportunities

We always need and appreciate volunteer help for our different outreach events, plant sales, field trips and other activities in order to keep our chapter running. Check out our current open positions to discover how you can help us on the “Volunteer Opportunities” tab.

Chapter Meetings

Chapter meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at 7 pm via ZOOM. If you are interested in joining, and learning about what we are currently working on, send us an email. We would love to have you!

See our “Chapter Events” page for details of both upcoming and recent general meetings.

Field Trips

Throughout the year, we offer field trips and outings to hike and explore the native plants and other wildlife in local natural areas. Most of these are open to both members and non-members. See our “Chapter Events” page for details of upcoming field trips.
