Embarking from the Willow Creek side, we’ll hike westerly on the Pomo Canyon Trail. As we walk, we’ll ponder the mix of wild fl owers, trees, wild foods n history – and we’ll sort out some of the mystery of how this place came to be. We’ll pause for the beauty and wonder of some of the wildfl owers along the way and we’ll listen to some of the stories they say. These stories n path’ll converge where the gentians grow with a glimpse of the coast n sea below. We’ll lunch or snack there n then wander back as we ponder what’s ahead. –David Self.
Meet at the Pomo Canyon Trailhead at the campground, on Willow Creek Road, 1.4 miles in from Hwy 1 just south of Jenner. The hike will be steep in parts, about 6 miles, with exposure to sun and ticks, so dress accordingly. Bring water and your lunch.
