Biochemist by profession, nature lover by choice. I enjoy sharing my enthusiasm and growing knowledge of, and gardening with, native plants at CNPSCI tabling events where I also endeavor to grow our chapter membership through outreach. I am co-leader of the all volunteer Wildlife Habitat Improvement Program (WHIP) at the Ventura Land Trust’s Harmon Canyon, where we support and encourage native plants primarily by removing invasive weeds. Note the native walnut tree at my knee! I planted a small orchard at the entrance to Harmon Canyon from seeds collected there, cold stratified and sprouted in pots in late 2022. They were transplanted this spring and grew like crazy with all that rain! I was just about to give them a drink—when Hillary came to town!!

California Naturalist, bird nerd, plant lover, especially calochortus, and general outdoor enthusiast. My love of native plants got me volunteering with the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy, Ventura Land Trust and my eventual involvement with CNPSCI.
I am a bookkeeper for a family owned and operated contractor in Santa Barbara county, I work as an event coordinator in my spare time and try to get outside to hike and explore as often as possible.
