January/February 2026 Newsletter now available online!

Here is the January/February 2026 CNPSCI newsletter. Inside you’ll find news about our upcoming Monthly Meetings. On January 20th Sophie McLean and Maripaula Valdes-Berriz will discuss Rx Burning as a Tool for Invasive Plant Management and Habitat Restoration in Ventura County. On February 17th Dr. Matt Ritter will discuss his book California Trees: A Guide to Native Species. We’ll also have two great field trips: Coal Oil Point Reserve in Goleta on Friday, January 16th from 9am-12pm; Gridley Trail in Ojai on Saturday, February 7th from 9am-1pm. And don’t forget to check out some of the volunteer opportunities tabling and restoration we have scheduled.

To round out the articles wee have a hike to Piedra Blanca on November 9th, the California Rose as Plant of the Month, the invasive plant called Devil’s Thorn, and our ongoing efforts for restoration and beautification.
