2023 Scholarship

You are invited to submit project proposals to the 5th year of our student scholarship program for research or other projects related to the study of California native plants along the central coast of California! Suitable topics include, but are not limited to: the ecology of native plants, plant communities, pollination ecology, seed dispersal, taxonomy, phenology, and more.
Who may apply: Any student attending junior college, college, or university and working on a student project that is based within Ventura and/or Santa Barbara Counties.
When to apply: Please submit your project proposal by February 17, 2023. You may submit your proposal electronically by emailing it to cnpschannelislands@gmail.com.
Award Notification: You will be notified by February 27, 2023, if your project has been selected.
How much funding is available? In 2023, a scholarship of up to $500 will be available.
What to include: Your proposal should include the following in no more than 2 pages: title, objectives, methods, expected final product, a brief statement of your qualifications, and a budget. In addition, include a letter of support from your advisor or professor. Both the proposal and the letter of support should be emailed to cnpschannelislands@gmail.com.
If your project is selected for funding, you will be expected to provide a report, and to make an oral presentation at a future chapter meeting, held either in Ventura or Santa Barbara.
