Reyes Peak Forest Health Project Update

The Los Padres Forest released a proposal at the end of May 2020 to thin mixed conifer forests and masticate chaparral over a 755 acre area on Pine Mountain in Ventura County. The current proposal would involved the removal of well over 10,000 trees and potentially threaten the habitat of several rare plant species.  The Channel Islands Chapter submitted comments to the Los Padres Forest calling for them to evaluate the impacts that this project would have on the rare plants in the area and to the special habitat occupying pine mountain.
