STEWARDSHIP DAY: Mariposa Trails and Central Sierra CNPS

The Central Sierra Chapter of the California Native Plant Society (CNPS) and Mariposa Trails will co-host events to share the work of Mariposa Trails, and offer guided hikes and presentations to learn about the early season blooming wildflowers of the Sierra Nevada Foothills.

On Feb. 22nd, we’ll host a field trip to Hite Cove on the South Fork of the Merced River (9:00 AM -12:00 PM) followed by presentations at the El Portal Community Hall by Mariposa Trails Executive Director Bill King and CNPS members (2:00 PM – 4:00 PM).

On March 8th, Mariposa Trails, CNPS, and any interested volunteers will steward the Hite Cove Trail (9:30 AM – 4:30 PM), taking time to identify early season wildflowers and plants along the way.
