PRESENTATION: Preserving Native Grasslands & California’s Newest State Park

Heather Reith, Natural Resource Manager, will cover restoring vernal pools, protecting rare and endangered plants and animals, while highlighting plans for future visitor facilities. Paige Haller, Sector Manager for five park units including Great Valley Grasslands State Park and Dos Rios State Park, will describe the new park’s creation and opportunities to visit and explore.

Great Valley Grasslands State Park preserves some of the last remaining native grasslands in the Central Valley, while Dos Rios State Park, our newest park, is at the confluence of the Tuolumne and San Joaquin Rivers. Preserving this important floodplain is key to saving habitat for protected species and migrating birds.
