FIELD TRIP: High Sierra Double Header (2 days)

Once again this year we are offering a High Sierra Double Header
and invite you to make it a weekend!

This is a two-day event and full descriptions of each walk are given in separate calendar entries, also linked in the next paragraph.

On Day One, the main event is a strenuous hike to the Hall Research Natural Area – Inyo National Forest. As a supplement, there will be a wonderful Wildflower Walk for Kids & Beginner Adults at Saddlebag Lake. On Day Two, the hike will be to Gardisky Lake.

NOTE: High Sierra field trips have sometimes been cancelled because of thunderstorms, and even with perfect weather, attendance is often light because it is a lot of driving from the foothills for a day trip. We encourage you to drive up on Thursday or Friday, find a campsite or lodging in Lee Vining or Mammoth, get acclimated to the altitude, then join us for one of two walks on Saturday (one easy, one strenuous) and another strenuous walk on Sunday.
