FIELD TRIP: Lake Tabeaud, Amador County

We will hike around Lake Tabeaud, looking for California native plants, hoping on this occasion to find Yellow Star-tulip/Calochortus monophyllus and Showy Phlox/Phlox speciosa, among other plants growing around the lake/reservoir. Hiking boots recommended, although good sneakers will do.

Hiking Level: Easy, level 2.5 mile walk.

Date and Time: Sunday, April 27, 2025, 1 pm.

Meeting Place: Lake Tabeaud, the first parking lot as you enter the area, off Lake Tabeaud Road, Amador County. Note that the entrance into the area is poorly signed. When you get to the point that Lake Tabeaud Road is marked as a one-lane road, you take an immediate right onto “Dam Road,” again, not well marked.
