FIELD TRIP: Blue Canyon Lake

LEADER: Tom Reyes | Arduous due to high elevation and 1,200′ elevation gain | Description: We will climb from Highway 108 near Sonora Pass to a beautiful 10,000′ lake near the crest of the Sierra Nevada where we should see a good diversity of subalpine-alpine wildflowers. The hike will be 3.6 miles out and back, with a 1,200′ climb.
Meeting Place: Meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Blue Canyon Trailhead, approximately 1 mile west of Sonora Pass. Parking is limited, so carpooling is highly encouraged. Some participants from the previous day’s field trip will be camping at Leavitt Lake.
Time: Meet at 9:30 a.m., Blue Canyon Trailhead.
