FIELD TRIP: A Wildflower Walk for Kids and Beginner Adults at Saddlebag Lake

This easy walk, led by Doug Krajnovich, is a supplement to the High Sierra Double Header for kids and beginner adults who don’t know much about wildflowers but want to learn. Unlike the main double header hikes, both of which are strenuous, this will be an almost level out-and-back walk to a seep on the east side of Saddlebag Lake. Round-trip walking distance will be under one mile. Personal observation and discovery will be emphasized instead of leader just pointing to one plant after another and spitting out names! The walk will last 2 or 3 hours.

Reservation Needed: RSVP to Doug Krajnovich at djkran@comcast.net. Please indicate if you will be bringing children, along with their ages, so that age-appropriate materials can be provided to make it more fun and interesting.

Meeting Place:  Saddlebag Lake main parking lot at the end of Saddlebag Lake Road.

Meeting Time: 8 a.m. sharp. We want to get an early start so we can get a walk in even if there are afternoon thunderstorms.
