Monthly Meeting
Our meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of each month, with the exception of November and December, which will have a combined meeting on the first Thursday of December.

Karn Imwattana – A tale of two glacial refugia: Genetic Structures of circumboreal species within the Sphagnum capillifolium Complex.
Several closely related species undergoing similar historical events can serve as a repeated natural experiment. This study investigates the population structure of five circumboreal species of peat mosses in the Sphagnum capillifolium complex. The patterns of population structures are strikingly similar, and it suggests that the Last Glacial Maximum, along with two glacial refugia in the Beringia and eastern North America might be the main influence that shape the population structure of circumboreal peat mosses.
